1) What session types do you offer?

Video via Microsoft Teams, phone, or typed chat (Teams messaging). Choose what feels safest and easiest for you.

2) How long is a session and what does it cost?

  • Individual (video/phone): 40 minutes @ £35

  • Messaging (typed chat): 1 hour @ £15

3) How do I book?

Use the Book Your Appointment page. New clients book a Free consultation If it feels right, book your first session; returning clients book a returning session. You can also book weekly, fortnightly, every three weeks, or monthly, whatever fits into your life.

4) Will I need to fill out forms every time?

No. You’ll complete a one-time intake & consent before your first session. After that, it’s only a very quick check-in.

5) Do I need a Microsoft Teams account?

No. Click the link in your email and choose Join as guest.

On your phone/tablet, install the free Microsoft Teams app first.

6) Is messaging (typed chat) secure?

We use Microsoft Teams with privacy settings applied. I keep your information confidential within professional and legal limits. Messaging is not for emergencies; please don’t take screenshots or record.

7) Where’s my session link?

I’ll email your session link (and a Meeting ID/Passcode as backup) before each appointment. For messaging sessions, the link opens a live chat at your booked time.

8) What’s your cancellation policy?

Please give 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations/no-shows are charged the full fee.

9) What if I’m running late or we get disconnected?

Join as soon as you can. If we’re cut off, rejoin using the same link after 2–3 minutes. If it still won’t connect, I’ll try to contact you, and we can move to phone or reschedule.

10) Are you an emergency service?

No. If you’re at immediate risk, call 999 or go to A&E. You can also contact Samaritans 116 123 (24/7).

11) How do you handle my data?

I follow UK GDPR. See my Privacy Policy for how your data is collected, used, and stored, and your rights.

12) Accessibility

Let me know any access needs (e.g., captions, chat-only, slower pace). I’ll adapt sessions to support you.

13) What happens in the first session

We map what’s not working, what “better” would look like day to day, and agree a small next step. I will also cover boundaries, privacy and any accessibility needs.

14) Do you set tasks inbetween sessions

Sometimes. We may agree on one small practical step that fits your week and then review what you notice next time.

15) What if it doesn’t feel like a good fit?

That happens. Tell me, there’s no offence taken. We can adjust the focus, or I can signpost you to another counsellor if that’s better for you.

16) What approaches do you use?

I work collaboratively and integratively. That can include person-centred listening, here-and-now awareness, and CBT-style tools (e.g., mapping links between thoughts, feelings, and actions). We look back only when it helps make sense of the now.
